Situated in 25 acres of scenic parkland, with ample car parking, a souvenir shop.

Visitors are welcome to picnic on our tables in the large mown grass areas of the park.

At the Welsh Hawking Centre you will see over 200 Bird of Prey including Eagles, Owls, Hawks, Falcons and Buzzards. They can be seen and photographed in the mews, weathering ground, breeding and if you are fast enough, flying!

We also have rabbits, chickens and chicks for the young and not so young to touch, smell and feed. This is very important for children to learn to love animals in latter life.

We pride ourselves on the personal contact we have with our visitors, so please ask any of the staff any questions or help you may need.

Things to Do

Have a Picnic : Bring your own food and use our picnic tables but watch out for our birds and animals who may want to share it with you!

Visit our Shop : Our gift and souvenir shop has lots of items to please from a few pence to that special present. It also sells falconry furniture and books. Visa and Access accepted.

Learn how we incubate and rear our baby birds : We are the leading British breeders of Birds of Prey. Watch the babies come out of their eggs and the little ones being fed.

See how many wild birds and animals you can spot : We share our home with a very rich supply of wildlife. The day record stands at 34 different species with the total well over 50!

Things to See

Breeding : Our domestic breeding programme is extremely successful using both natural and artificial techniques. If you visit us in the spring or summer you will be able to watch this in action, and the raising of the babies.

Free range animals : We have lots and lots of very tame animals roaming free in the park. Ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits. These will take great pleasure in relieving you of any spare food!

Adventure Playground : This special playground is a hit with the younger children and is made to stretch their courage without breaking too many bones! Seats are provided for mums and dads to keep a watch.

Special Facilities

Education : Every school party is given a flying display and a talk. Some of the children will be allowed a "hands on" experience. Todays children are tomorrows conservationists.

Falconry Courses : Throughout the year we offer a one day introduction and during the winter a more in-depth five day course for those wishing to take up the art.

If you love something,
set it free.
If it comes back to you,
it is yours.
If it doesn't, it never was.
