The Geology of Barry



Porthkerry Beach and Bull's Nose (seen here looking east) are sea cut Lias Limestone laid down in the Jurassic era 135 to 180 million years ago. Cold Knap Point, with Steep Holm behind, are both older Carboniferous Limestone.
